Spooky stuff, 80's horror movie music aside.
Scientology is, if nothing else, a great study in how easy it is to get people to believe things. Hubbard was a schmuk off the street who decided to make a lot of money by starting a religion based on nonsense stories... and it worked. I fully believe that you can get the average person to believe anything, up to including that the sky is orange, if you're persistent and use enough logical fallacies.
